If a move is likely

A residence permit is tied to a job. If the job moves, the visa moves. Finish the pregnancy file, the medical birth certificate, the home-country passport, and the Chinese visa for your baby in Beijing if you can. Those steps travel with you. A hospital file does not.

Do not open a pregnancy file in Beijing if you already know you will deliver in another city. Open the file where you will give birth. Confirm that city on its own: English at the window, insurance direct billing, and school waitlists are local facts, not copies of Beijing.
